The coast and the sea have been long-time beacons of inspiration since the beginning of storytelling. Beguiling and mysterious, the enduring British coastline represents a symbol of power, recreation and life, appearing in literature and art throughout centuries. Ever since its inception in 1895, Rotary has also developed pride in power and watch craftsmanship. This year, in a time when international travel has been restricted, the world-respected watch brand looks to the diverse and charming British coast to drive creativity in its latest release, the Henley Seamatic.
The Henley is a sports classic in the Rotary portfolio, adored for its timeless style, faultless design and seamless partnership with contemporary taste. The Seamatic is its oceanic offering, a titan of motion that is water resistant to a mighty 300m. Like the British coast is an underestimated display of beauty, the Seamatic is a refined and understated divers’ watch, built with precision and performance in mind.

Crafted with solid stainless steel, the Seamatic is a resilient timepiece that comfortably fits on the wrist thanks to an elegantly designed 3-link bracelet. The 42mm case, also built in stainless steel, houses the automatic Miyota 8215 movement and ensures high-quality performance for decades to come. Extra protection comes from hard wearing, scratch-resistant sapphire glass. Indeed, the dial is perhaps the most enchanting facet of the Henley Seamatic, featuring a ceramic bezel and luminous open hands and markers. A date window is additionally present at 3 o’clock, built beneath a magnifier for optimal reading. At just above 6 o’clock is the Seamatic logo, adding a stylish touch and heightening collector’s value.
There a four iterations of the new Henley Seamatic, each representing a vignette of the iconic British coast. Black symbolises the moody and rugged landscape of rocky shores, perfect for a discreet but no less good-looking effect. The yellow dial, complemented by a contrasting black ceramic bezel, represents the delicate sandy beaches that are the hidden treasures of the coast. Characterising marine plant life is the green dial, an ode to the essential underwater vegetation that sustains life throughout the sea. Blue, of course, embodies the open sea with all its intrigue, vastness and beauty.
